Air Transport Colloquium 2014

The Department of Transport and Regional Economics of the University of Antwerp invites you to the Air Transport Colloquium 2014 held on the 4th of December 2014.

This colloquium is intended as a platform for industry stakeholders, policy makers and academics to exchange ideas about important issues in the development of today’s air transport sector. The focus will be in particular on current challenges and opportunities for the European aviation business. More information you will find here .

Dear EFLE members,

We are pleased to invite you for the EFLE conference in October 2014!

The European Forum of Logistics Education (EFLE) was founded in 1993 in Paris, France. The Director of the Ecole Europeené Transport, Mr. Roland Brenin, called  logistic education professionals from all over Europe to come together in one conference.

Free conference on bicycle logistics in Nijmegen on Saturday April 12th 2014

The second, FREE to attend, conference of the European Cycle Logistics Federation will be held on Saturday 12 April 2014 in Nijmegen, the Netherlands and forms part of the International Cargo Bike Festival 2014 which is running at the same time over the 12 & 13 Apri 2014. The conference will build on the success of the first event held in Cambridge, UK in 2012 and includes a comprehenisve agenda of industry experts along with opportunities for participants to hear and learn from established cycle logistics operators.

“Enterprise in Logistics Research: Matching the needs of industry with academia” – Call for Papers

Deadline: 4th April 2014

The 19th Annual Conference of The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport, “Logistics Research Network” will take place from the 3rd to 5th September 2014 at the Business School, University of Huddersfield, UK.

The Conference accepts papers from a broad base of research and practice in relation to the operation of logistics and supply chains in all sectors. Papers can be of a strategic focus, or covering aspects of marketing, logistics and information technology, economics, management and organisational behaviour relevant to logistics and supply chain management.

Intra-Logistics, EFLE Jena 2013

Ernst-Abbe Fachhochschule – EAH (University of Applied Sciences) Jena hosted the 21st European Forum of Logistics Education (EFLE) from the 8th – 11th of October 2013.

The theme of this year forum was: Intra-Logistics (Concepts and Technologies in Production Logistics).

Some impressions:

Tuesday 8th of October

Most of the EFLE members joined for the informal starting dinner  in Hotel Schwarzer Bär. It was nice to meet old and new participants in an informal way. We discussed matters of personal and professional interest in the cosy restaurant of the hotel. Our host Burkhard  Schmager opened the informal meeting two times, because a lot of us were ‘flying in’ during the dinner from all parts of Europe and even Indonesia. EFLE 2013 Updated Programme

Dear EFLE Members,

Please find attached our EFLE 2013 Updated Programme with the planned topics.
We planned an informal starting dinner on Tuesday, the 8th of October, at the restaurant of the hotel “Schwarzer Bär”. On Wednesday and Friday morning we will have seminars regarding the topics “Optimization Activities in Intra-Logistics” and “IT-Systems and Intra-Logistics”. On Wednesday afternoon and Thursday we will visit interesting logistics companies. A practical insight highlight will be the visit of a night shift in the European Air Hub of DHL at the Leipzig Airport. For more details see the attached file.
